Amendment I

Congress shall make no law respecting the establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof, or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or of the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.

This is one the most important amendments of them all.  It establishes the basis of the rights of every citizen.  Its important for every citizen to know these rights.  Freedom of speech and religion is a big one. As citizens we are allowed to express ourselves through these outlets.  There are no judgments and no fear of being arrested for different beliefs.  All of these rights collectively make this a big deal for every person in the United States.

This picture lists rights established in the first Amendment.  I thought it was good picture because it portrayed that these are the rights of both men and women, both young and old.
