Amendment XXVII

No law varying the compensation for the services of the Senators and Representatives shall take effect until an election of Representatives shall have intervened.


Finally Amendment 27.  This Amendment is basically saying that there is no law that changing or implementing varying payments for the Senators service will be effective until after an election of Representatives that have done their check.  I am not overly certain what the exact meaning of the Amendment is.  Its what I think it means.  I do not believe that this affects me as much as the others.   I mean everyone has to get paid.  But it is a valid point to make. 



I think this is a good image for this.  It presents the visual that getting away with a lot of money is what the Amendment is for but actually its what is preventing that.

The right of citizens of the United States, who are 18 years of age or older, to vote, shall not be denied or abridged by the United States or any state on account of age. 

This the Amendment that says the legal age to vote in this country. At this age citizens are given the right to register and vote.  For me this was the best day because  I was finally able to participate in a significant event.  Its a great feeling because this is the legal age of adulthood.



This is a great image because it shows exactly what I was talking about. Its a fun way to get the point across but have fun with it also.

Presidential Vacancy, Disability, and Inability

This Amendment is pretty lengthy as well.  So this just gives the gist of what this one will be about.  It describes procedures of what will happen in an event the President dies while in office.  But it also talks about the rights of those that disabled in this country and those with inability.  Its an important Amendment because disabled people are still people and have rights like everyone else. 

This pictures is great in the way it demonstrates the way they switch places if something happens to the President.

The right of citizens of the United States to vote in any primary or other election for President or Vice President, for electors for President or Vice President, or for Senator or Representative in Congress, shall not be denied or abridged by the United States or any state by reason of failure to pay any poll tax or other tax.

Here is another Amendment that was a little longer in length so this is just the first part.  This is a continuation of the other Amendments with the details and instructions for the Presidency. But also something dealing with the poll taxes.  I am not sure but any of the other meanings of this but its the basis for what I think it is. 



This is a perfect image for this Amendment.  It is just simple but meaningful also.

The District constituting the seat of government of the United States shall appoint in such manner as the Congress may direct: A number of electors of President and Vice President equal to the whole number of Senators and Representatives in Congress to which the District would be entitled if it were a state, but in no event more than the least populous state; they shall be in addition to those appointed by the states, but they shall be considered, for the purposes of the election of President and Vice President, to be electors appointed by a state; and they shall meet in the District and perform such duties as provided by the twelfth article of amendment.

This another long Amendment and this is only the first part of the that Amendment.  This one also pertains to the ones for electing a President.  It goes along for the other instruction of the being elected President.

 No person shall be elected to the office of the President more than twice, and no person who has held the office of President, or acted as President, for more than two years of a term to which some other person was elected President shall be elected to the office of the President more than once. But this article shall not apply to any person holding the office of President when this article was proposed by the Congress, and shall not prevent any person who may be holding the office of President, or acting as President, during the term within which this article becomes operative from holding the office of President or acting as President during the remainder of such term.

This is just the first bullet of this Amendment but it states that the President is not allowed more than two terms of office.  This is a rule set long ago in the Constitution.  It is important for the American people to know this as well.

 The eighteenth article of amendment to the Constitution of the United States is hereby repealed. 

The transportation or importation into any State, Territory, or possession of the United States for delivery or use therein of intoxicating liquors, in violation of the laws thereof, is hereby prohibited.

This article shall be inoperative unless it shall have been ratified as an amendment to the Constitution by conventions in the several States, as provided in the Constitution, within seven years from the date of the submission hereof to the States by the Congress.

This is how the 18th Amendment was repealed.  It changed the laws of liquor and delivery in the Us and it was important.  Its plain and simple I think.  This is one of the easier Amendments to understand.

 The terms of the President and Vice President shall end at noon on the 20th day of January, and the terms of Senators and Representatives at noon on the 3 day of January, of the years in which such terms would have ended if this article had not been ratified; and the terms of their successors shall then begin.


This is the Amendment that sets the terms the President and Vice President.  When their terms in office will start and also the other offices as well.  This is the guide for them.  They follow these steps when taking office and it is an important Amendment to know and be able to reference when wanting to know a little about the presidency.  



This picture is not super special but it gives the significance of when a new president takes over.  This is important eve now as Donald Trump prepares to take office in January.

The right of citizens of the United States to vote shall not be denied or abridged by the United States or by any State on account of sex. 

This Amendment guarantees the right to vote and not being denied based sex.  So this one is about women.  This Amendment gave women the right to vote.  It is important for women to know this Amendment and to also be proud of it.  Its a right that will be forever.  Women's rights are as important as everything else. As a woman this one is especially important to me. I love having the right to vote and as I stated before have a voice in this big world. 



This picture I thought was perfect for this Amendment.  It depicts the strength of women and their endurance.  Many women fought long for this right.  It is still just as important today as back then.

Prohibition of Intoxicating Liquors

This is the Amendment that covers the liquor laws.  For the most part I believe they are referring to the production and the way it is distributed throughout the US. This Amendment was pretty long as well.  But gist of it is about the Manufacturing of the liquor products.  And also public intoxication and even the legal drinking age for the US. 

 

I think this image fits for this Amendment because of the discussion of liquor and all that goes along with it.
